If these walls could talk… Uncle Monty edition

The Penrith cottage – where Withnail and the (never named) narrator went on holiday “by mistake” – is up for sale, through Savills, asking price £145,000. It’s apparently pretty much unchanged since filming, although it’s attracted its fair share of graffiti from fans of the film. So it’s in a state, and plaing permission is necessary before it can be made habitable. It’s also remote. But it’s a proper piece of cinema history.n
