Homeowners happier than renters

Fewer than half UK renters are happy with their situation compared with 80% of home owner while in the rest of Europe it is 57% and 77%, according to the survey by Dutch bank ING.

The report looks at the UK’s chronic supply-and-demand imbalance, which tells renters their chances of ever owning a home (particularly in the capital) are slim. There are some contradictions in the report. Fewer UK respondents felt that property was overvalued than their European cousins; and yet the highest proportion of people expecting a house price correction was in the UK (and Australia).
